On May 5 at 5:45 pm is the presentation of the 12 entrepreneurship projects selected for this Bootcamp, moving the chosen startups in activities such as the creation of immersive tourist experiences, web platforms and mobile applications related to accommodation, parking and cargo management. vehicles, tour guide and pet services. Business areas are also covered, such as a cloud of educational documents, branding and digital communication consultancy for luxury brands, a physical training center in the scope of information technologies and an education, health and well-being project that explores the traditions and properties of the arbutus tree.

The projects will be evaluated by an international jury, composed by Ana Barjasic (CEO of Connectology), Buke Cuhadar (vice president of Global Entrepreneurship Network), Daniel Neagoe-Bacanu (president of Forever for Europe Association), Francesco Berrettini (CEO of Algarve STP), Isabel Neves (president of the Business Angels Club de Lisboa), Miguel Barbosa (director of investment in Tourism at Portugal Ventures), Paulo Pinheiro (administrator of Parkalgar and CEO of Autódromo Internacional do Algarve) and Roberto Antunes (executive director of NEST - Tourism Innovation Center Portugal).

Investment Program “+ Plus”

On May 4, at 9:30 am, there will be a session on “Impact Investment as a response to the local economy”, with the presentation of the Casa do Impacto project, from Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, and the investment program “+ Plus ”, which annually distributes 500 thousand euros to support ideas with potential for social and environmental impact.

In this session, which will include the participation of Inês Sequeira, director of this project, and Nelson Horta, coordinator of Casulo, incubator of Social Innovation Loulé / Algarve, the importance of startups in the development of projects with potential for social and environmental impact will be discussed. in the context of the SDGs, as solutions to respond to the reality generated by Covid-19.

The moderation of the session will be in charge of Teresa Preta, CEO of Territórios Criativos.

Speed Mentoring

Bootcamp participants finalize their presentations through speed mentoring sessions and pitch stations, during which entrepreneurs will receive feedback from a set of mentors.

Smart Cities and ODS - Sustainable Development Goals set the tone for the initiative

In times of pandemic, Startup Portimão launches, in partnership with GEN Portugal, the 1st Online Acceleration Bootcamp in the Algarve totally virtual, which will take place on the 21st and 22nd of April and the 4th and 5th of May, following good practices international incubators and entrepreneurship centers around the world, which are not suspending initiatives, but are reinventing themselves and stimulating the entrepreneurial spirit.

By launching this bootcamp, a pioneer at the regional level, StartUp Portimão intends to reinvent the Algarve entrepreneurial ecosystem and minimize the negative effects of the pandemic in the medium term, offering alternative solutions that make the scheduled activities feasible.

The Smart Cities and the SDGs - Sustainable Development Goals will be the two themes that cut across all the moments of this bootcamp, whose sessions will be in English. On the one hand, it will seek to identify startups and projects linked to the areas of the incubator - the Smart Cities, which somehow improve the lives of those who live, work or visit the cities; on the other hand, it is intended that entrepreneurs develop sustainable and “future” businesses - which contribute to achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

The 21st and 22nd of April and the 4th of May will be par excellence moments of virtual networking and talks on current and useful topics for the development and acceleration of business, namely in terms of finance, marketing, approach to investors, risk mitigation, pitch training , and Covid-19's challenges, among others, and the Startup Academy Plan, a visual and intuitive tool designed by Creative Territories for developing the business plan, is also addressed.

Free participation

This bootcamp is intended for entrepreneurs, Portuguese or foreign, with startups or projects undergoing acceleration, preferably in the areas of Smart Cities. Entrepreneurs from any region of Portugal can apply, giving preference to those who have their activity in Portimão.

One of the objectives of Startup Portimão is to approach schools and universities, which are considered fundamental players in the creation of an entrepreneurial ecosystem. In this sense, the bootcamp will count on the participation of students from ISMAT - Instituto Superior Manuel Teixeira Gomes and from the School of Hotel and Tourism of Portimão, partners of the program.
